July Issue is Locked, August is Taking Shape, and the Clock is Ticking!
AUSTIN, TX (June 12, 2025) – The energy here at COMPUTE!’s Gazette headquarters is electric! We’re thrilled to announce that the content for our landmark July reboot issue is officially complete! On July 1st, the files will be sent to the printers to begin their transformation from digital bits into the physical magazine you can hold in your hands.
We know you’re all eager to see what we’ve been working on, especially our cover story. We’ve landed a feature that we are incredibly excited about, but it’s currently held under a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) until mid-July. To honor that agreement, we have a special, one-time release schedule for this first issue:
- Physical copies will be mailed out to all pre-order customers and subscribers on Friday, July 18th.
- The digital version will become available, and the cover story will be revealed to the world, on the morning of Saturday, July 19th.
We appreciate your understanding and promise the wait will be worth it! Please note that for all future issues starting in August, our digital editions will be available promptly on the first of each month.
Final Warning: Get the First Issue Before It’s History!
The response to our pre-orders for the physical first issue has been phenomenal. However, we must stress that this is a limited print run. Once the initial batch of printed copies is sold out, they are gone for good. If you want to own this piece of history, we urge you to place your pre-order soon to ensure you don’t miss out.
A Look Ahead: The August Issue is Already Packed!
We aren’t resting on our laurels! The August issue is already well underway with an incredible lineup of articles. We are honored to feature an exposé celebrating the timeless artwork of Robert Tinney, the legendary former cover artist for BYTE magazine. His vision defined an era of computing, and we had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Tinney to talk about his career and his perspectives on technology and art. We can’t wait to share his story!
Also in August, our Tech Bench will feature a deep-dive article documenting a RAMLink build for all the hardware hackers out there. Plus, we’ll have on-the-ground coverage from recent events that brought our community together, including VCF Southwest and Austin’s own Classic Game Fest in addition to the other outstanding topics contained within our pages. It’s another issue packed with amazing content you won’t want to miss!
